Attendance Policy

At the Cambridge Muslim Academy, we believe that regular attendance is crucial for a successful and fulfilling educational experience. This attendance policy has been developed to ensure that our students make the most of their learning opportunities, maintain their academic progress, and contribute positively to the overall educational environment.

 

Policy Implementation:

  1. Mandatory Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance is mandatory for all students enrolled in our programs. This includes both in-person and online classes.

  2. Notification of Absence: Parents or adult learners must notify the Academy of any planned absences or unforeseen circumstances causing absence as soon as possible. Notification should be made through the designated communication channels (e.g., email, phone).

  3. Attendance Records: The Academy will maintain accurate attendance records for each student, which may be monitored by parents or adult learners upon request.

  4. Tardiness: Being late to class disrupts the learning environment and is strongly discouraged. Repeated tardiness may result in disciplinary action.

  5. Excused Absences: Excused absences are granted for reasons such as illness, family emergencies, religious observances, or other justifiable circumstances. Students and their parents or adult learners should notify the Academy and provide appropriate documentation when applicable.

  6. Make-Up Work: Students are responsible for making up any missed assignments or coursework due to excused absences. Teachers will provide reasonable opportunities and timeframes for students to complete make-up work.

  7. Unexcused Absences: Unexcused absences are those not covered under the excused absence criteria. Repeated unexcused absences may result in academic consequences and may be reported to parents or adult learners.
