Course Title: Introduction to Qur’anic Arabic (Hafs an Aasim)
Course Overview:
Anas bin Malak related that the Prophet said ,”Verily Allah has people from mankind.” It was said “who are they,O Messenger of Allah?” He said,”The people of the Quran those who read it often and apply it, they are the people of Allah and his special ones.” Related by Ahmed, Ibn Majah, Al Haakim, and Al-Daarimee and graded as authentic.
The Qur’anic Arabic and Tajweed for Adults course is a comprehensive program designed to help individuals, with no prior knowledge of the Arabic language, enhance their ability to recite and understand the Holy Quran. The course aims to provide students with the necessary skills to pronounce the Quranic verses accurately, comprehend the rules of Tajweed, and ultimately foster a deep appreciation and love for reciting the Quran.
Course Objectives:
Develop a foundational understanding of Qur’anic Arabic to facilitate the correct pronunciation and recitation of the Quran.
Introduce the rules and principles of Tajweed and its application in the recitation of the Quran. Enhance students’ ability to read and recite Quranic verses fluently and accurately.
Foster a deeper spiritual connection with the Quran through regular recitation and comprehension of its meanings.
Prepare students to become among “the people of the Quran” as described by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) – those who read it often and apply it in their lives.
Course Outlines:
Module 1: Introduction to Qur’anic Arabic Understanding the importance of Quranic Arabic. Introduction to the Arabic alphabet and script. Learning basic Arabic vocabulary related to the Quran. Simple pronunciation exercises and drills.
Module 2: Reading and Writing Quranic Text Introduction to the Hafs an Aasim recitation style. Mastering the pronunciation of individual Arabic letters. Basic Quranic text reading practice.
Module 3: Fundamentals of Tajweed Understanding the significance of Tajweed in Quranic recitation. Exploring the rules of Tajweed and their application. Practicing basic Tajweed rules.
Module 4: Advanced Tajweed Rules In-depth study of Tajweed rules, including characteristics of letters , attributes , and more. Practical exercises to apply advanced Tajweed rules.
Module 5: Recitation Mastery Developing fluency and melodious recitation of Quranic verses. Correcting common mistakes in pronunciation. Memorisation and recitation of selected Quranic passages.
Module 6: Comprehension and Reflection Learning the meanings and interpretation (Tafsir) of selected Quranic verses. Reflecting on the spiritual and moral lessons derived from Quranic passages. Developing a personal connection with the Quranic content.
Module 7: Strengthening Faith and Practice Understanding the Hadith about “the people of the Quran.” Cultivating a deeper connection with the Quran in daily life. Encouraging regular recitation, reflection, and implementation of Quranic teachings..
